Preparing for Easter

During this season of Lent, we invite you to join CrossPoint in patterns of prayer, fasting, and Scripture that will help us practice the presence of God as we prepare our hearts for Easter. We invite you to join our daily rhythm as we practice the presence of God during this time of spiritual preparation for the celebration of Easter.

Praying Each Day

We invite you to spend time with Jesus daily in a pattern of personal prayer
Morning: Spend 5 minutes of silence with God; invite him into your day
Noon: Pray the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6v9-13)
Evening: Pray the Prayer of Examen:
• Replay—recall the journey of your day
• Recall—remember the strongest emotions of your day
• Release—give Jesus the contents and emotions of the day
• Rejoice—thank God for his grace, and look ahead to tomorrow

Fasting Each Wednesday

We invite you to fast each Wednesday from something that’s applicable for you—three meals, or one meal, or social media, or something else to help you create intentional space for Jesus.

Our weekly fasts are opportunities to pursue greater apprenticeship to Jesus. As we empty our lives of commotion, clutter, and noise, we seek greater room for the Holy Spirit to speak to us through Scripture. Rather than simply subtracting something from our lives, this is an opportunity to add something greater.

Praying as a Community Each Wednesday
